Malaysia Airlines enhances operational consistency and flexibility

Malaysia Airlines has announced a continued focus on operational consistency and customer flexibility, achieving an on-time performance (OTP) above 90% throughout April 2026. This marks the second consecutive month the airline has surpassed its 85% OTP target, reflecting improvements in boarding processes and on-ground support. The airline also reported a 30% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in March, with an 8% rise in April.

The airline’s Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business, Bryan Foong, highlighted the importance of reliability and flexibility for travellers in today’s uncertain environment. “Our focus continues to be on delivering safe and dependable operations, whilst providing our customers the flexibility and support they need as travel patterns continue to evolve,” he said.

To further enhance customer experience, Malaysia Airlines has introduced the “Now Boarding” campaign, offering flexible fare options and value-added benefits. The Flex fare family allows unlimited flight changes without additional fees, whilst child fares and onboard activity packs cater to families. Exclusive benefits are available for bookings made via the airline’s website or app, including discounts for Enrich members and cashback offers.

The airline’s brand value has also seen significant growth, increasing by 27% to $771 million (USD771 million), according to the Brand Finance Airlines 50 2026 report. Malaysia Airlines climbed four places to rank 41st globally, underscoring its commitment to a premium, customer-centric experience. The airline plans to continue building on these efforts to enhance the travel experience across its network
