From Malaysian street food and cinema to Sarawak crafts, comedy, dance and family fun, d discover a taste of Malaysia at Battersea Power Station this September
Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 will be promoted in London through celebrASIA 2026, showcasing Malaysian cuisine, cinema, crafts, music and cultural experiences.
Visit Malaysia 2026 will reach UK audiences through celebrASIA 2026, a three-day South East Asian cultural festival taking place at Battersea Power Station in London from 11–13 September 2026.
The event will showcase Malaysian food, cinema, music, dance, traditional crafts and cultural experiences, offering visitors an introduction to the country ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign.
Malaysia showcased through food, film and culture
celebrASIA 2026 will transform Battersea Power Station into a celebration of South East Asian culture, with Malaysia featuring prominently throughout the programme.
Visitors will discover Malaysian traditions through street food, contemporary cinema, Sarawak heritage, batik artistry and pewter craftsmanship.
The festival aims to highlight the diversity of Malaysia’s tourism offer, from local communities and culinary traditions to creative industries and cultural experiences.

Malaysian flavours arrive in London
Food will be central to Malaysia’s presence at the festival. The programme will feature Malaysian traders and chefs presenting traditional flavours and modern interpretations.
Participating food brands include Syiok Lah and returning trader Eat Lah. Chef Mandy Yin will collaborate with Chick ’n’ Sours, while Mambow’s Abby Lee will return with a Hainanese Chicken Sando.
The festival will also feature the Gin Malaya Masterclass, highlighting Malaysian botanicals and distilling techniques. In addition, chef Ranie Saidi will host an Everyday Malaysian Cooking Class at Borough Kitchen Battersea.
Malaysia on screen and stage
The celebrASIA Film Festival, running from 7–13 September, will present three Malaysian films at The Cinema in the Power Station and The Cinema in The Arches.
The programme includes Ola Bola, You Mean the World to Babah and Me. The films explore themes including family, identity, community and resilience, with English subtitles for UK audiences.
Meanwhile, the main festival stage will feature Malaysian music, dance, DJ performances and comedy. Malaysian actor and comedian Vera Chok will make her celebrASIA comedy debut, while Kompang Malaysian drumming and Sarawak dance performances will introduce audiences to traditional art forms.
Hands-on Malaysian heritage experiences
Malaysia Square will provide a dedicated area for performances, workshops and family activities
Visitors will also have opportunities to participate in traditional craft workshops. Royal Selangor will introduce participants to pewter craftsmanship, allowing visitors to create their own handcrafted bowl using traditional techniques.
The programme will also feature Sarawak-inspired workshops, including Bemban mat weaving and beadwork sessions led by Sarawak beadcrafter Stephen Keshi from Dalat Mukah.
In addition, Batik Ying will introduce visitors to the traditional wax-resist art of batik through practical workshops.
Festival experiences inspire future travel
The celebrASIA Artisan Market will bring together 50 independent traders offering Malaysian products, including sauces, spices, snacks, accessories, artwork and handcrafted items.
Participating Malaysian names include Batik Ying, Nico Nico, Hiraya Manawari and Ooily Bros.
The festival will also promote Malaysia as a future travel destination by connecting cultural experiences in London with destinations across the country.
Visitors inspired by the festival can explore Kuala Lumpur’s food scene, George Town’s UNESCO-listed heritage and cuisine, Malaysia’s islands and beaches, ancient rainforests, and the wildlife and traditions of Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo.

celebrASIA 2026 will take place at Battersea Power Station in London from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September 2026. Entry to the festival is free, while selected workshops, masterclasses and film screenings require advance booking.
