Visa expands Thailand programme with ASIATIQUE partnership

Visa has expanded its Thailand  tourism programme through a partnership with ASIATIQUE The Riverfront Destination, connecting international visitors with more than 150.

Visa has expanded its Visa Destinations Thailand programme through a year-long partnership with ASIATIQUE The Riverfront Destination, one of Bangkok’s leading lifestyle and entertainment destinations.

The collaboration runs until 30 April 2027 and connects international visitors with more than 150 participating merchants across dining, shopping, attractions, entertainment and lifestyle categories.

Programme focuses on high-value visitor spending

The partnership builds on Visa’s collaboration with the  Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) under the Visa Destinations Thailand programme. The initiative aims to connect travellers with local experiences while supporting tourism businesses.

According to Visa analysis, affluent travellers spend an average of 3.5 times more on cross-border transactions than mainstream travellers. Their spending increasingly focuses on dining, entertainment, wellness and local experiences.

Through the ASIATIQUE partnership, Visa aims to support Thailand’s efforts to attract high-value travellers by combining destination marketing, cardholder benefits and digital payment solutions.

Visa highlights digital payments and tourism value

Anthony Watson, Country Manager, Visa Thailand, said, The future of tourism is not about counting arrivals, but creating value. Since launching Visa Destinations in Thailand, we have been working with partners across the tourism ecosystem to connect international travellers with curated local experiences, strengthen digital payment acceptance, and help businesses capture more value from tourism.

From our collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to initiatives spotlighting distinctive cultural districts such as Song Wat, we have focused on helping Thailand turn  travel demand into deeper engagement and broader economic opportunity.

Our partnership with ASIATIQUE The Riverfront Destination builds on that momentum. By combining curated visitor experiences with seamless digital payments and targeted destination marketing, we are helping connect high-value travellers with local businesses in more meaningful ways. Together, we aim to strengthen ASIATIQUE’s appeal as a must-visit destination while creating greater opportunities for merchants to benefit from tourism spending.

ASIATIQUE partnership introduces visitor benefits

Mr. Michael Hariz, Chief Commercial Business Officer, Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), said, ASIATIQUE The Riverfront Destination has always given visitors another reason to fall in love with Bangkok, the rich beauty of the Chao Phraya River, great food, great shopping, great entertainment for all ages, and a riverside setting you won’t find anywhere else. Our partnership with Visa builds on that. International travellers get exclusive privileges and a seamless way to pay, while our tenants enjoy a direct line to high-value customers.
