UTSSOB to Organize Professional Workshop on Meaningful Tourism and China Source Market

The United Tourism Stakeholders Society of Bangladesh (UTSSOB) organized a meeting on the evening of August 9, 2026, at Days Hotel, Baridhara, bringing together representatives from various stakeholder organizations and sectors of the tourism industry.

The meeting discussed the future activities and initiatives of UTSSOB. It was decided that UTSSOB, in collaboration with COTRI, will organize a full-day professional workshop on “Meaningful Tourism and the China Source Market” on September 6, 2026.

The workshop will focus on key issues and emerging opportunities in the tourism sector, covering both inbound and outbound tourism, with particular emphasis on understanding and developing the China source market.

The workshop will be conducted by Prof. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, an internationally recognized tourism expert and founder of COTRI.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation jointly issued by UTSSOB and COTRI.

The meeting was attended by Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali, Founder President of  Bangladesh International Hotel Association ( BIHA); Mr. Taufiq Rahman, Secretary General of PATA; Mr. Rezaul Ekram, Founder President of BD Inbound; Mr. Sadik Al Mahadi, representative of WTC; Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Director, UTSSOB; Mr. Mehdi Amin Chowdhury, Founder President of Parjatan Shilpo Cooperative Society Ltd. and senior journalists and advisors Mr. Syed Ishtiaque Reza and Mr. Pranab Saha, among others.

The meeting reaffirmed UTSSOB’s commitment to bringing together tourism stakeholders and creating opportunities for professional development, knowledge sharing and collaborative initiatives for the growth of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
