Mongolia and Czech Republic strengthen cultural cooperation

Mongolia and the Czech Republic discussed cultural cooperation, highlighting a major Genghis Khan exhibition and plans for a dinosaur exhibition in Prague in 2027.

Mongolia and the Czech Republic cooperation was the focus of a meeting between J. Aldarjavkhlan, Mongolia’s Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, and Jan Vytopil, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Mongolia, together with Michal Lukeš, Director General of the Czech National Museum.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the cultural sector and advancing collaborative initiatives between the two countries.

The discussions highlighted the international exhibition “Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Changed the World”, which was presented in Prague in 2025 and was recognised as a significant milestone in cultural cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic.

The two sides also reviewed preparations for a major exhibition of Mongolian dinosaur fossils, scheduled to be hosted by the Czech National Museum in 2027. The exhibition is expected to showcase Mongolia’s internationally renowned paleontological heritage and help raise the country’s profile among international audiences.

Participants also exchanged views on opportunities to promote Mongolia internationally through cultural initiatives, museum partnerships and educational activities linked to the planned exhibition.

The meeting reflects the ongoing commitment of both countries to expanding cultural exchanges and strengthening cooperation through museum, heritage and exhibition projects.
