Etihad offers free medical insurance for Abu Dhabi visitors

Etihad Airways, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) Abu Dhabi, has announced a new initiative offering complimentary medical travel insurance to all international visitors flying to Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights. This insurance, underwritten by The National Insurance Company – Daman, will be automatically provided to eligible visitors for up to 15 days, starting from July through December 2026.

The initiative aims to enhance the travel experience by ensuring visitors are well-protected upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. The insurance is available to any guest flying to Abu Dhabi on an Etihad-operated service, with both the point of origin and point of sale outside the UAE. Travellers participating in Etihad’s Stopover Programme are also covered for the duration of their stay.

His Excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, stated, “This initiative ensures we meet that demand with an exceptional, end-to-end visitor experience.” Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, emphasised the seamless experience this initiative provides, allowing guests to focus on enjoying Abu Dhabi’s hospitality.

Khaled Ateeq Aldhaheri, CEO of The National Insurance Company – Daman, highlighted the value of integrating reliable medical insurance into the travel journey, enhancing the visitor experience with access to comprehensive medical services.

This partnership underscores Etihad and DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment to prioritising visitor experience, making Abu Dhabi an even more attractive destination with its rich heritage and modern attractions.
