Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a sweeping global renovation initiative, with 20% of its portfolio currently undergoing transformation across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
This ambitious project includes significant redevelopments at Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda and Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva in Switzerland, both set to reopen in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
The CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Omer Acar, emphasised the brand’s commitment to blending heritage with modernity, stating, “Our hotels, whether historic treasures or modern masterpieces, are always central to life’s most important moments.” The renovations aim to enhance guest experiences whilst preserving the cultural and historical significance of each property.
Among the active projects, Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver is enhancing its wellness offerings with a newly renovated spa and fitness centre, slated for completion by June 2026. Meanwhile, Fairmont Southampton’s USD $550 million redevelopment will introduce new guestrooms, suites, and a Fairmont Gold experience, alongside a revamped food and beverage landscape.
In London, The Savoy is undergoing a meticulous restoration of its Art Deco and Edwardian wings, with the refreshed Art Deco bedrooms expected to be unveiled in summer 2026. Additionally, Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa is enhancing its guestrooms and lobby, with completion targeted for December 2026.
These renovations are part of Fairmont’s broader strategy to redefine luxury hospitality, ensuring their properties remain at the forefront of the industry. As these projects progress, Fairmont continues to set a benchmark for luxury experiences worldwide.
