
Air India is set to restart non-stop flights between Delhi and Rome from March 2026, re-establishing direct air links after nearly six years.
Air India has announced the resumption of its non-stop flights between Delhi and Rome, marking the airline’s return to the Italian capital after almost six years. Services on the route had been suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic.
From 25 March 2026, the carrier will operate four weekly flights between Delhi and Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino). The reinstated service forms part of Air India’s ongoing expansion of its European network and is timed ahead of the spring and summer travel season.
Flight frequency and aircraft details
The Delhi–Rome route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will be operated using Boeing 787-8 aircraft, featuring 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 238 seats in Economy Class.
Between 25 and 27 March 2026, flights from Delhi will depart at 13:15 and arrive in Rome at 18:00. Return services will depart Rome at 19:50 and arrive in Delhi at 09:00 the following day.
From 29 March 2026 onwards, flights from Delhi will continue to depart at 13:15, arriving in Rome at 18:55. The return service will depart Rome at 20:50 and arrive in Delhi at 09:00 the next calendar day. All times are local.
Improved connectivity via Delhi hub
The resumption of the Rome service will provide travellers from Italy with direct access to the Indian capital, as well as onward connections via Delhi to destinations across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
These onward destinations include Bangkok, Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Phuket and Singapore, strengthening Delhi’s role as a global transit hub.

With the addition of Rome, Air India will serve eight destinations in mainland Europe and three destinations in the United Kingdom.
