Hilton expands full-service footprint in Africa with three new DoubleTree by Hilton signings

Hilton expands its African portfolio with three new DoubleTree by Hilton signings in Morocco, Togo and the Republic of Congo, including the group’s market entry into Togo.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Hilton has announced the expansion of its upscale DoubleTree by Hilton brand across Africa, with three new signings in Morocco, Togo and the Republic of Congo. The agreements include Hilton’s market entry into Togo and reinforce the group’s long-term growth strategy on the continent, where it now has more than 100 hotels in its development pipeline.

DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport, Togo

Marking Hilton’s debut in Togo, DoubleTree by Hilton Lomé Airport is being developed in partnership with SODEXH SA. Located directly opposite Lomé International Airport, the hotel will become the country’s first internationally branded airport hotel, targeting business travellers and transit passengers.

The property will offer 165 guest rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, lobby café, outdoor pool, spa and fitness centre. Meeting facilities will include a ballroom and three meeting rooms, providing conference and event capacity with convenient access to the city’s commercial and cultural areas.

DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele, Republic of Congo

DoubleTree by Hilton Kintele will be located in Brazzaville’s emerging Kintele district and developed in partnership with Société d’Exploitation et de Développement des Infrastructures du Congo (SEDIC). The hotel will feature 200 guest rooms and suites, a fitness centre, tennis court, spa and beauty salon.

Guests will have access to several dining venues, including a lobby bar and terrace, pool bar and two specialty restaurants overlooking the Congo River. A key feature of the development is West Africa’s largest conference centre, covering 75,000 square metres, with an auditorium for 1,500 delegates, banquet halls, a VIP lounge and a museum hall. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2026 and will complement the recently opened Hilton Brazzaville Les Tours Jumelles Hotel & Residences.

DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraie, Morocco

Set in Marrakech’s well-known Palmeraie district, DoubleTree by Hilton Marrakech La Palmeraiewill operate as a resort-style property with 228 guest rooms and suites. The hotel will include landscaped gardens, multiple dining venues, swimming pools for adults and children, a gym, spa and paddle court.

Meeting facilities will comprise a ballroom and dedicated meeting rooms, while the location provides easy access to Marrakech’s historic centre and traditional souks. The hotel is expected to open in 2028 and will add to Hilton’s growing presence in Morocco, where 16 hotels are currently in the pipeline, including Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé and Hampton by Hilton Ben Guerir.

The three new signings will join DoubleTree by Hilton’s global portfolio of more than 700 hotels across 61 countries and territories. The brand continues to expand across Africa, following recent announcements in Angola, Ethiopia and Morocco, as Hilton strengthens its position in key business and leisure markets across the continent.
