To meet soaring demand during summer holidays, Vietjet is expanding its domestic routes in Vietnam by 35% and increasing night flights by 46%. Starting next month, the airline is set to launch four new non-stop services from Vietnam’s famous tourist destination, Phu Quoc Island, to Taichung and Kaohsiung and from Hanoi to Melbourne and Sydney.
During the peak summer season, Vietjet is providing an additional 1.4 million domestic tickets across destinations in Vietnam, representing a 35% increase. The airline has boosted flight frequencies on existing routes to major travel hubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and has also introduced new routes between provincial cities.
Vietjet has also increased its number of night flights by 46%, amounting to 3,100 overnight services from hubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang to other provinces including Hai Phong, Vinh, and Thanh Hoa, with attractive low fare offers.
To meet the travel demand of international travellers during the summer, Vietjet also brings Phu Quoc Island closer to Taiwan with nonstop flights from Taichung and Kaohsiung. This makes Vietjet the only airline providing direct regular air services from Phu Quoc Island to Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. This expansion highlights Vietjet’s commitment to strengthening its flight network and enabling seamless travel between Vietnam and Taiwan, with flights linking Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc in Vietnam to major cities in Taiwan including Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, totalling nine direct services.
The Phu Quoc – Taichung route will commence operations on 13 June 2024, offering thrice – weekly service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, lasting three hours and 30 minutes. The Kaohsiung – Phu Quoc route will be launched on 14 June 2024, operating four return flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with a flight time of three hours and 15 minutes.

Additionally, Vietjet is enhancing Vietnam – Australia connectivity with the launch of twice – weekly services from Hanoi to Melbourne, as well as the Hanoi to Sydney, beginning in the first week of June. These direct routes will reduce travel times significantly and offer more affordable travel options.
