Air India and Singapore Airlines are expanding their commercial partnership across 126 weekly flights, with wider booking options from October and new loyalty benefits from 2027.
From 15 October 2026, the Air India Singapore Airlines partnership will give customers more booking and travel options between Singapore and eight Indian cities. The first phase covers 126 weekly flights and follows a Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement signed in January 2026.
Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) will deepen cooperation across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Customers will gain greater flexibility when booking eligible flights through either airline’s sales channels.
Standalone booking option starts on 15 October
At present, an eligible Air India codeshare flight booked through SIA must include an SIA-operated flight. The same rule applies in reverse to eligible SIA services booked through Air India.
From 15 October, the airlines will remove that requirement. Customers will then be able to book eligible India-Singapore flights operated by either carrier as standalone journeys through the other airline.
The change will apply across airline websites, mobile applications and appointed travel agencies. As a result, passengers will have access to more flight combinations through both booking networks.
The Air India Singapore Airlines cooperation also aims to create a more consistent booking experience. Both carriers are working on schedule improvements that could reduce layovers and waiting times.
Frequent flyer benefits expand in 2027
The airlines have already expanded reciprocal mileage earning. In April 2026, they added more eligible booking classes and revised earn rates across all cabin classes.
Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members can now earn miles on a wider range of eligible flights operated by either airline. From the second quarter of 2027, both programmes will add further reciprocal benefits on eligible routes.
Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding. These benefits will apply alongside privileges already available to top-tier members of each airline.
Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members will gain additional baggage allowances and priority boarding on eligible routes. Existing Star Alliance privileges will continue.
Further customer initiatives under development
The airlines are also working on additional measures for corporate customers. Other initiatives will focus on schedule connectivity and a more streamlined travel experience.
Nipun Agarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, said:
“Strategic partnerships will play a key role in Air India’s evolution into a leading, world-class global airline. The next phase of our cooperation with Singapore Airlines reflects a shared commitment to putting customers at the centre of everything we do. By building on the strengths of our two airlines, we aim to bring greater consistency to the travel experience of our common customers between India and Singapore, while delivering greater choice, convenience and value. As demand for travel between our countries continues to grow, this partnership positions us to serve that opportunity even better.”
Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer, Singapore Airlines, said:
“The first phase of our strategic commercial partnership with Air India is an important step towards delivering greater benefits and a more seamless experience for our customers. Demand for travel between Singapore and India remains strong, and this partnership will give customers greater choice and convenience, as well as enhanced reciprocal benefits for our frequent flyer members. Customers can look forward to more initiatives that give them more options, and strengthen connectivity between the two countries.”
Codeshare network spans 77 destinations
Air India and Singapore Airlines currently maintain a comprehensive codeshare agreement covering 77 destinations across 27 countries and territories. Their hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore connect travellers with destinations across Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.
The expanded Air India Singapore Airlines partnership builds on that network with more flexible booking and loyalty options. It also creates a wider platform for further cooperation as demand between India and Singapore grows.
