Kimpton Phang Nga will expand IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury lifestyle presence in Thailand. The company has signed a new beachfront resort in partnership with Natai Venture Co., Ltd.

Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach will open in 2028 in Phang Nga Province. The 150-key resort will introduce the Kimpton brand to one of Thailand’s emerging coastal destinations. The signing strengthens IHG’s position in southern Thailand. It also reflects growing demand for luxury lifestyle hospitality across the country.

Kimpton expands Thailand luxury portfolio

IHG currently operates two Kimpton properties in Thailand: Kimpton Kitalay Samui and Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok. In addition, the company has several Kimpton hotels in its future pipeline.

These developments include projects in Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin, Khao Yai and Pattaya. Together, they support IHG’s strategy to introduce more lifestyle hospitality experiences across Thailand.

Pathana Jitsaereetham, Director, Development, Thailand, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the new resort will provide more choice for travellers visiting Thailand.

“We are delighted to bring Kimpton to Natai Beach and expand our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Thailand, offering travellers greater choice across some of the country’s most sought-after destinations,” Jitsaereetham said.

“As IHG’s second hotel signing in Phang Nga Province, Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach marks an important milestone in our growth strategy and underscores our confidence in the destination’s long-term tourism potential,” he added.

Resort designed around destination experiences

Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach will feature 150 guestrooms, suites and villas. The accommodation will sit within a tropical landscape close to the beachfront. The resort will offer several lifestyle facilities. These include restaurants, beach and lobby bars, a spa, swimming pools, a fitness centre, a kids’ club and flexible event spaces.

Located on Natai Beach, the resort will be approximately 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport. Therefore, it will provide convenient access for international and domestic visitors. The planned Andaman International Airport in Phang Nga is also expected to improve regional connectivity. The airport is targeted to open in 2032.

With direct access to Natai Beach, the resort will focus on the area’s natural environment and relaxed coastal character. Its design will combine contemporary elements with local influences.

Phang Nga attracts new tourism investment

Naphat Boontanonda, Director of Natai Venture Co., Ltd., said Phang Nga’s beaches, limestone formations and coastal landscapes create strong opportunities for tourism development.

“Phang Nga is renowned for its breathtaking natural landscapes, from pristine beaches and dramatic limestone formations to its tranquil coastal setting. Travellers increasingly seek authentic experiences combined with a growing appetite for lifestyle experiences; we believe Natai Beach is exceptionally well-positioned to meet this demand,” Boontanonda said.

Titiwat Kuvijitsuwan, Director of Natai Venture Co., Ltd. and CEO of Capstone Asset, said the project aims to create a lifestyle resort that connects visitors with the destination.

“We look forward to working closely with the IHG team to create a world-class lifestyle resort that showcases the best of Phang Nga, while introducing a compelling social and dining destination for both visitors and the local community,” Kuvijitsuwan said.

Capstone Asset is the shareholder and development partner of Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach. The company has also developed Kimpton Kitalay Samui, the first Kimpton resort in Asia.

IHG continues expansion across Thailand

IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 42 hotels across 11 brands in Thailand. The company also has 39 additional properties in its pipeline.

Kimpton Phang-Nga Natai Beach will become IHG’s second signed resort in Phang Nga Province. The first is InterContinental Phang Nga Bay Resort.

Overall, the project highlights continued investment in Thailand’s regional tourism destinations. At the same time, it reflects hotel groups’ growing focus on luxury and lifestyle experiences beyond established tourism centres.
