UTSSOB Holds Research Working Group Meeting to Advance Destination Research Initiative

The United Tourism Stakeholders Society of Bangladesh (UTSSOB) recently convened a meeting of its Research Working Group to implement the decision taken at the Society’s most recent Board Meeting regarding destination-based tourism research.

The meeting focused on finalizing the research methodology and framework for UTSSOB’s first destination research project, which will be conducted in Srimangal. The study is designed to generate reliable data and practical recommendations to support destination management, sustainable tourism development, and evidence-based policy formulation.

Upon completion of the Srimangal research, UTSSOB will undertake a similar study on the Sundarbans, with the objective of developing a comprehensive body of knowledge on Bangladesh’s key tourism destinations.

UTSSOB believes that research is the cornerstone of informed planning and sustainable tourism development. Through this initiative, the Society aims to strengthen collaboration among public and private sector stakeholders, academia, development partners, and tourism professionals to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Bangladesh’s tourism industry.
