ITF 2026 highlights growing interest in themed travel experiences
The exhibition reflects changing travel preferences, with more travellers seeking distinctive experiences, seasonal activities and specialised holiday programmes. According to the Taiwan Visitors Association, destinations remain important, but travellers increasingly consider the activities and experiences available during their journeys.
This year’s offerings include polar exploration, scenic railway journeys, international cruises, hiking holidays and seasonal travel packages. Meanwhile, tour operators will present programmes built around winter sports, Northern Lights viewing, New Year’s Eve celebrations and Lunar New Year holidays.
The event also marks the 40th anniversary of Taiwan’s leading annual travel exhibition. Previously known as the Taipei International Travel Fair, it will be called the Taiwan International Travel Fair in 2026, reflecting its broader international positioning.
Antarctic expeditions and extended world cruises feature prominently
Lion Travel will showcase a 20-day Antarctic Peninsula expedition scheduled for 2027. The itinerary includes travel aboard a luxury expedition cruise ship, a crossing of the Drake Passage and guided landings that offer opportunities to observe penguins, glaciers and Antarctic landscapes.
Meanwhile, South East Travel Service will promote extended world cruises operated by Peace Boat. Its 2027 programme includes a 104-day voyage departing from Keelung, with destinations across Africa and Alaska.
The company will also present a 106-day itinerary for 2028, departing from Kaohsiung. Highlights include Northern Lights experiences in Iceland, French Polynesia and Machu Picchu in Peru.
These programmes form part of the exhibition’s wider selection of long-distance and special-interest holidays. In addition, visitors will find scenic rail travel, Arctic exploration and nature-based itineraries designed around distinctive landscapes and seasonal attractions.
Digital travel platforms and tour operators introduce promotional offers
Travel agencies and online platforms will use the exhibition to promote holiday packages and booking services. AsiaYo will highlight products combining cruise and land-based travel, alongside winter skiing holidays, sports tourism, day excursions and other themed experiences.
The platform will also promote eSIM services for international travellers, allowing customers to arrange digital connectivity alongside other travel requirements.
Meanwhile, Unitravel Services has introduced online promotions ahead of the exhibition, including selected buy-one-get-one flight offers, packages with gratuities waived and fixed-price travel products.
The exhibition will provide opportunities for travellers to compare destinations, accommodation, transport and activities. However, individual promotional offers will remain subject to the participating companies’ booking conditions and availability.
Hotels promote accommodation and dining packages
Taiwan’s hospitality sector will also have a significant presence at ITF 2026, with hotel groups promoting accommodation, dining experiences and seasonal packages.
