Star Air will introduce 24 new weekly flights connecting Telangana and Odisha from 4 September 2026, expanding regional air connectivity in eastern India.
The airline will launch a direct Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar service and restart the Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda route. Both connections will operate six days a week, excluding Wednesday. The expansion is part of Star Air’s network development strategy and supports growing demand for regional air travel across India.
New Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar connection
The new Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar route will connect two important economic and cultural centres. Hyderabad is a major hub for technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, and business.
Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, plays a key role in government, education and commerce. The city also provides access to Odisha’s cultural and religious attractions.
The new service will improve access to destinations such as Puri, home to the Jagannath Temple, and Konark, known for its historic Sun Temple. The route is expected to support travel for business passengers, students, families and leisure visitors.
Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda route resumes operations
Star Air will also resume flights between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda. The route will strengthen connections between eastern and western Odisha.
Jharsuguda provides air access to the Sambalpur region, which includes industrial centres and tourism attractions such as the Samaleswari Temple, Huma and Hirakud Dam. The renewed connection aims to support business mobility, regional trade and tourism development in western Odisha.
Six-day weekly schedule
The new Star Air services will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The schedule will provide additional travel options for business trips, family visits and short leisure breaks.

Star Air’s network expansion aligns with the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) programme, which aims to improve air access from underserved and unserved airports.
