IHG signs Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang in Thailand

IHG Hotels & Resorts will expand its Thailand portfolio with Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang, a 158-key conversion  hotel scheduled to open by the end of 2026.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang, a 158-key conversion hotel that will expand the company’s presence in Krabi, one of Thailand’s leading leisure destinations.

The property, developed in partnership with Chok Deesuk Co., Ltd., will join IHG’s globally recognised Holiday Inn Express brand following a rebranding programme. The hotel is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.

The signing strengthens IHG’s existing relationship with Chok Deesuk Co., Ltd., which also owns the nearby Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach.

Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang will become the first Holiday Inn Express hotel in Thailand and the second in Southeast  Asia to feature the brand’s latest Generation 5 (Gen 5) design.

Location supports Krabi tourism growth

Located in the centre of Ao Nang, the hotel will provide access to Krabi’s attractions and tourism facilities. The property will include an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre.

The hotel is positioned approximately one kilometre from Ao Nang Beach, along one of the destination’s main commercial streets, with access to shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Krabi International Airport is around 40 minutes away by car.

Ao Nang serves as a gateway to several of Krabi’s most popular attractions, including Poda Island, Chicken Island, Hong Island and Railay Beach. The destination attracts leisure travellers, families, couples and adventure travellers through its beaches, outdoor activities, dining options and nightlife.

IHG continues Thailand expansion

With the addition of Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang, IHG continues to expand its hotel portfolio across Thailand, offering a wider range of accommodation options across leisure and business destinations.

IHG currently operates 42  hotels across 11 brands in Thailand, with 39 additional properties in the pipeline, supporting the company’s continued growth strategy in the country.
