World Tourism Network Bangladesh Chapter Hosts Heartfelt Iftar for Orphaned Children in Chattogram

The World Tourism Network (WTN) continues to uphold its global commitment to social responsibility, with a special focus on supporting orphaned children. The World Tourism Network Bangladesh Chapter proudly embraces this humanitarian mission as part of its ongoing community engagement initiatives. In the sacred month of Ramadan, a time that embodies compassion, generosity and unity, the Bangladesh Chapter organized a heartfelt Iftar gathering for orphaned children on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at Hotel Agrabad.

The initiative was led by Dr. H. M. Hakim Ali, Chairman of the Bangladesh Chapter, whose long-standing dedication to social welfare continues to inspire the hospitality and tourism community. More than 100 orphaned children were welcomed to an evening of warmth and celebration, where they enjoyed a thoughtfully curated Iftar buffet, sweets, and a joyful atmosphere designed to make them feel valued and cherished. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ali emphasized the profound importance of giving back to society, particularly during Ramadan. He stated that while the gesture may seem modest, its intention is deeply meaningful to share happiness and create lasting memories for children who deserve care, dignity, and opportunity.

“Our purpose is not only to serve meals,” he remarked, “but to serve hope, joy and a sense of belonging. If even for a single evening we can bring smiles to these young faces, then we have fulfilled a meaningful part of our responsibility.” The children expressed heartfelt gratitude for the initiative, describing the evening as memorable and uplifting. Their smiles and appreciation stood as the most powerful testament to the impact of the event. With members across 130 countries and a rapidly expanding global presence, the World Tourism Network continues to demonstrate that tourism leadership extends beyond business it encompasses compassion, community, and collective responsibility. The Iftar program in Chattogram stands as a shining example of how the tourism sector can contribute meaningfully to society while fostering goodwill and unity.
