Malaysia Airlines and travel technology solutions firm Amadeus recently strengthened their partnership through the deployment of the former’s new distribution capacity (NDC) content to travel agents in India.
Enrolling in Malaysia Airlines’ NDC platform provides significant opportunities for travel agents, as it grants access to exclusive lowest promotional fares and a suite of value-added services such as ancillaries including extra baggage, seat selection and lounge access with attractive rates.
This also gives travel agents a competitive edge to offer exclusive deals for Malaysia Airline’s customers both on the NDC platform and through the airline’s official website.
A crucial part of transformation
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) chief commercial officer of airlines Dersenish Aresandiran said of this development: “Malaysia Airlines’ adoption of NDC is a significant step towards modernizing airline retail. Our partnership with Amadeus has been crucial in achieving our transformation goals. With NDC, we look forward to enhancing the shopping experience and allowing customers to personalize their travels, supporting our vision of becoming Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group.”
For his part, Amadeus’ executive vice-president for the Asia-Pacific Javier Laforgue opines that this is a major milestone in his company’s ongoing partnership with Malaysia Airlines, particularly its joint strategy to provide deep end-to-end integrations of content via NDC into the travel seller’s technical ecosystem, as well as supporting the industry’s ongoing retailing journey.
Laforgue said: “With this deployment of NDC, we start building on the momentum made over the years to support modern retailing and once more demonstrating our commitment to continue offering through the Amadeus Travel Platform more travel content globally and at scale.”
