InterContinental to open Halong Bay Resort in Summer 2025

InterContinental  Halong Bay Resort opens summer 2025 with 174 rooms, event spaces, curated dining, and direct access to  Ha Long Bay.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has announced that its newest property, InterContinental Halong Bay Resort, is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. Located at the gateway to Ha Long City, in the Ha Long Marina Urban Area, the resort will be positioned near Bai Chay and will provide access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay.

The resort will offer 174 guestrooms and suites, 60 branded residences, and 41 private villas. Designed by WATG with interiors by P49Deesign, the architectural narrative draws from the region’s folklore and marine landscape, incorporating motifs such as bamboo basket boats and aquatic patterns into the design.

The culinary programme will span six dining venues, including Roku & Sky Bar, a Japanese-inspired rooftop destination, and Yulong Mansion, a Cantonese restaurant offering open-kitchen dining and private rooms. Other facilities will include wellness programming in collaboration with Margaret Dabbs London and Sodashi, offering treatments from facials to body therapies. A range of family-friendly activities and recreation options will also be available, including three pools, beach sports, and a children’s club.

The resort will support events of varying scales, offering five event spaces equipped with modern conferencing technology. The Grand Ballroom will accommodate up to 1,050 guests in a theatre-style arrangement, while other spaces include outdoor gardens and terraces with reception capacities up to 390 persons.

Situated two hours from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, the resort’s location is suited for both leisure travellers and those engaging in pre- and post-cruise stays. Its opening is set to coincide with ongoing regional tourism development in Ha Long Bay, offering a base for cultural and nature-based experiences, such as local fishing village visits, cave explorations, and bay cruises.

The resort’s operations will also include access to the Timeshifter app, supporting long-haul travellers in mitigating jet lag with circadian science tools, and multiple dining concepts designed to reduce travel fatigue and accommodate guests’ changing needs throughout the day.
