Abu Dhabi Sets Sights On Tourism Boom With New Cultural Attractions

Abu Dhabi is gearing up to unveil a range of exciting new attractions in 2025, aligning with its bold tourism ambitions. Part of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, the city aims to boost its annual global visitor count to 39.3 million, a significant rise from 24 million visitors in 2023.

Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District is on track for completion by late 2025, enhancing the city’s cultural offerings. Among the anticipated attractions are the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, which will feature permanent art collections, unique exhibitions, and a children’s learning center; the Zayed National Museum, dedicated to the heritage and culture of the Emirates; and the National History Museum Abu Dhabi, offering insights into the region’s geological past.

Additionally, TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is “opening soon” in Saadiyat, presenting immersive art installations focused on Environmental Phenomena. In October, Abu Dhabi also revealed plans to introduce the world’s second Sphere, following the Las Vegas debut in 2023, designed to host concerts, shows, and events.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is also set to expand, with a Harry Potter attraction in development, though the opening date remains unannounced.

Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030 outlines ambitious targets, including raising the number of hotel rooms from 34,000 to 52,000 and increasing the average length of international visitors’ overnight stays from 3.2 nights to 3.9 nights.

Upcoming additions to Abu Dhabi’s hospitality landscape include the Liwa Hotel by Autograph Collection, scheduled to debut in 2025 within the stunning Liwa Desert, and Nobu Hotel Abu Dhabi, anticipated to open on Saadiyat Island by 2027. The Mandarin Oriental Residences on Saadiyat Island is also underway, bringing 228 luxurious branded residences to the area.
