Etihad Airways has enhanced its Etihad for Business platform, allowing corporate clients to redeem EYB credits for carbon offsets, supporting voluntary environmental commitments while managing business travel via a single digital portal.
Etihad Airways has introduced a new sustainability-focused feature to its Etihad for Business platform, enabling corporate clients to redeem Etihad for Business (EYB) credits for carbon offsets directly through the portal.
The enhancement builds on Etihad’s existing collaboration with CarbonClick* and is designed to help companies integrate their voluntary climate action into day-to-day travel management.
Javier Alija, Vice President Global Sales & Distribution at Etihad Airways, said: “This enhancement provides our corporate clients with a practical tool to assist in achieving their voluntary environmental commitments. By integrating carbon-offsets directly into Etihad for Business, we simplify the process for corporate clients to be aware of their emissions associated with business travel and choose to take steps in support of climate action through their everyday travel management.”
Earlier this year, Etihad launched the fully digital Etihad for Business corporate programme, consolidating its business travel offering into a single online portal. Through this platform, corporate clients can manage travel, access contract details, track spend and redeem credits for a range of benefits.
Currently, EYB credits can be used for upgrades, priority services, lounge access and excess baggage. With the latest update, carbon offsets have been added to this list, giving travel and procurement managers a concrete way to channel earned programme value into climate-related initiatives.
Looking ahead, Etihad plans to add more advanced functionality to the portal, including automated performance reports, transparent tiering requirements, real-time analytics and simplified contract management. These features are aimed at making business travel programmes more measurable and easier to optimise.
“We’ve built a platform that puts control directly in the hands of our corporate clients,” added Alija. “Business travel management should be straightforward, not complex. Our portal delivers a seamless, self-service experience that helps corporate clients maximise the value of their travel programmes. This new carbon offset option further supports corporate clients in aligning their travel with their environmental goals.”
