IHG signs Crowne Plaza Jakarta PIK2, opening in 2027

IHG will open the 220-key Crowne Plaza Jakarta PIK2 in 2027, becoming the first hotel within the PIK2 waterfront development and strengthening Jakarta’s premium hospitality offering.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Jakarta PIK2, a new 220-key hotel set to open in 2027 within the expansive PIK2 waterfront township in Tangerang, in the northern part of Jakarta. The development spans 6,000 hectares and is positioned as a world-class integrated city that blends commercial, residential, and lifestyle concepts.

The upcoming Crowne Plaza Jakarta PIK2 will be the first hotel to open in the township, serving as the anchor hospitality development and joining a global Crowne Plaza portfolio that now includes more than 550 operating and pipeline properties. With Indonesia’s visitor economy accelerating—welcoming 11.43 million international arrivals in the first nine months of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 10.22%—the new hotel arrives at a strategic moment. The country aims to reach 16 million foreign visitors and more than one billion domestic trips by the end of the year.

Located within Greater Jakarta’s first urban beach district and approximately seven minutes from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the hotel is positioned to serve both business and leisure travellers seeking convenience, connectivity and contemporary design. Planned facilities include 220 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants and a bar, a health club, a spa, a swimming pool, and over 990 square metres of meeting and event space. As with all Crowne Plaza properties, the hotel will offer flexible venues and curated social spaces tailored for today’s blended travel patterns where business and leisure intersect.

PIK2 itself is envisioned as a smart, sustainable, and fully integrated city. Featuring a four-kilometre white sand beach, a 60-hectare greenbelt, and world-class convention and exhibition infrastructure, the township is set to become a new economic and leisure hub for Greater Jakarta.

Crowne Plaza continues to reinforce its position as a pioneer in the premium hotel segment, with a refreshed brand identity and a footprint that spans major urban centres worldwide. In Indonesia, IHG currently operates 33 hotels across eight brands, with 12 more in the pipeline. Crowne Plaza Jakarta PIK2 will join an existing estate of six IHG properties in Jakarta, including InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels, strengthening the Group’s presence in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic metropolitan regions.
