With 8.9% GDP growth in 2024 and world-leading governance, Rwanda offers lucrative opportunities across manufacturing, ICT, infrastructure, and tourism.

H.E. Mrs Jacqueline Mukangira
High Commissioner of Rwanda to India
Rwanda and India share a privileged strategic partnership rooted in strong bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Over the past two decades, relations have steadily strengthened. Today, India is Rwanda’s second-largest foreign investor and trading partner. Strategically located at the heart of Africa, Rwanda is recognised for its governance transparency and strict zero-tolerance approach to corruption. In 2024, the country ranked 1st in Sub-Saharan Africa in the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index for the fourth time, reaffirming its commitment to justice and the rule of law.
Rwanda’s economy remains one of the fastest-growing in Africa, recording 8.9% GDP growth in 2024, driven largely by services. The country has earned global recognition for its investment climate, topping Africa in the World Bank’s 2024 B-READY Report and ranking among the top 10 worldwide across key indicators.
It also ranks 1st in the EAC and 5th in Africa for network readiness, with 95% national coverage. Rwanda is a global leader in women’s participation, with nearly 64% representation in the Chamber of Deputies.
The country offers vast opportunities for investors in sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, agriculture & agro-processing, mining, ICT, cybersecurity, real estate, financial services, tourism, health, and education.
Rwanda also offers attractive incentives, including a 7-year corporate tax holiday for investments above USD 50 million, a preferential 15% corporate tax rate for exporters and priority sectors, 0% tax for regional headquarters, 50% accelerated first-year depreciation, exemption on capital gains, and duty-free imports of machinery and inputs within the EAC.
Tourism remains one of Rwanda’s strongest sectors, offering unique experiences in natural beauty, wildlife, and culture. It is home to five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including four Genocide Memorials. Key attractions include Volcanoes National Park, Akagera National Park, Nyungwe National Park, Lake Kivu, the Congo Nile Trail, and Kigali’s vibrant cultural offerings.
Rwanda has also become a premier host of global events. In 2024, it welcomed the Africa CEO Forum, the BAL Playoffs and Finals, and the FIA Awards—the latter held in Africa for the first time in its 120-year history. In September 2025, Kigali will host the UCI Road World Championships, another historic first for Africa in the event’s 103-year history.
Together, these milestones underscore Rwanda’s transformation into a dynamic hub for investment, tourism, and international engagement.
