Speakers announced for The TravMedia Summit at IMM Asia 2024

Generative AI’s impact is on the agenda for discussion

TravMedia announced this year’s list of speakers for its 2024 summit scheduled for 21 October during this year’s run of IMM Asia in Singapore.

Along with keynote speaker Graham Lovelace, the summit roster is made up of: Shawn Ong, editor-in-chief at Condé Nast Traveler China; Peden Bhutia, Asia editor for Skift; James Pham, Southeast Asia destination editor at Lonely Planet; Ching Yee Wong, APEC vice-president for communications at Marriott International; Post Magazine’s travel editor Mark Footer who also works with the South China Morning post; and Trip.com general manager Edmund Ong.

Topics for discussion include unlocking the modern social media landscape, travel trends, and responsible tourism.

Generative AI and the travel sector

Media veteran Lovelace is set to speak to attendees about what is currently the most disruptive innovation since the invention of the internet: generative artificial intelligence (AI.)

Lovelace will touch on generative AI’s potential to fundamentally transform industries and forever change the way humanity interacts with the information that guides our lives. 

He will also discuss generative AI’s impact on both the travel industry and journalism, along with how travel media and public relations professionals can adapt and use such technology to their advantage.

In a career spanning 40 years, Graham has been a journalist, editor, consultant, producer, and entrepreneur with a keen interest in the future of media. Graham will cover Generative AI, its impacts on the travel industry and journalism, and how travel media and PRs can adapt and thrive.
