International recognition marks another milestone for Baywatch Beach Hotel & Spa and its vision to promote Inani, Cox’s Bazar, as a luxury tourism destination.
BAYWATCH Beach Hotel & Spa, located in Inani, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, has received the prestigious Leading Luxury Hotel/Resort award at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2026, marking another significant milestone for the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.
The award was presented at the SATA 2026 Grand Gala held on 8 October at Barceló Nasandhura Malé, Maldives, bringing together tourism leaders, hospitality professionals and industry representatives from across South Asia.
The recognition follows Baywatch’s achievements at SATA 2025, when the property received South Asia’s Best New Hotel/Resort and South Asia’s Leading Beach Hotel/Resort awards. The latest honour further strengthens Baywatch’s regional profile and reflects its continuing ambition to establish Inani, Cox’s Bazar, as a distinguished destination for luxury hospitality, leisure travel and corporate tourism.

Situated along the scenic coastline of the Bay of Bengal, Baywatch Beach Hotel & Spa is an initiative of Army Welfare Trust, Bangladesh. The property seeks to combine premium accommodation, hospitality services, leisure experiences and corporate event facilities while showcasing the natural beauty and tourism potential of Bangladesh’s southeastern coastline.
A Milestone Beyond the Hotel
Commenting on the achievement, Md. Nizam Uddin Al Sumon, Cluster Manager – Operations & Sales at Baywatch Beach Hotel & Spa, said:
“This recognition means much more to us than receiving an international award. It represents the dedication of our team, the confidence of our guests and partners, and the collective ambition to position Bangladesh more prominently on the South Asian tourism and hospitality map.
“For Baywatch, this is not the finish line; it is the beginning of a greater journey. We believe our positive contribution to Bangladesh’s tourism, hospitality and entertainment industry can grow further through international collaboration, service excellence, destination marketing and sustainable tourism development.
“We are proud to represent Baywatch, Inani, Cox’s Bazar, and Bangladesh on this regional platform. Our ambition is to demonstrate that Bangladesh can offer distinctive luxury hospitality experiences while creating new opportunities for tourism investment, employment and destination development.
“I sincerely appreciate the guidance and support of our management, the commitment of the entire Baywatch family, and the trust of our guests, corporate partners and well-wishers who have been part of this journey.”
Promoting Inani and Cox’s Bazar to the World
Cox’s Bazar is internationally known for its expansive coastline, while Inani offers a distinctive coastal setting with significant potential for premium leisure tourism, destination weddings, corporate retreats, conferences and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism.
Baywatch aims to contribute to the development of this potential by strengthening hospitality standards, building international industry relationships and creating compelling reasons for domestic and international travellers to explore the destination.
The hotel’s consecutive years of recognition at SATA also underscore the importance of continued investment in service quality, professional development, brand positioning and collaboration across Bangladesh’s tourism ecosystem.
As South Asia’s tourism industry continues to develop new experiences and stronger cross-border partnerships, Baywatch views the latest award as an opportunity to expand its contribution to destination promotion and the international visibility of Bangladesh’s hospitality sector.
Looking Ahead
Baywatch will continue to focus on guest satisfaction, operational excellence, corporate hospitality, destination marketing and strategic partnerships. The property also aims to strengthen engagement with regional tourism stakeholders to help create new opportunities for Bangladesh in the competitive South Asian travel market.
The SATA 2026 recognition reinforces Baywatch’s commitment to its long-term vision: to deliver distinctive luxury hospitality while helping bring the beauty and potential of Inani, Cox’s Bazar, to a wider international audience.
From Inani to the South Asian tourism stage, Baywatch’s journey continues.
