Priority Pass will accelerate lounge expansion, digital development, AI capabilities and airport services through Collinson Group’s five-year growth programme.
Priority Pass is accelerating investment in digital services, artificial intelligence and airport experiences through a five-year growth programme from Collinson Group. The Priority Pass investment will also support a significant expansion of the group’s proprietary airport lounge network.
Collinson recently secured approximately $476 million USD in new financing. The facility will help accelerate a wider investment programme worth approximately $680 million USD over five years.
A significant share of that investment will support Priority Pass and the group’s lounge network. Priorities include digital infrastructure, AI, data capabilities and additional travel services.
Digital platform and AI capabilities move forward
Priority Pass has already started upgrading its technology infrastructure. This includes a new enterprise-level platform built around modern data and AI architecture.
The company is also rolling out the new Priority Pass+ app globally. The platform is designed to connect members, partners and clients within a more integrated digital ecosystem.
Future functionality will use AI, previous behaviour and real-time geolocation where enabled. The system will then suggest relevant lounges and other travel experiences for individual journeys.
Priority Pass also plans to expand personalisation based on member preferences. Partner integration will develop further to support secure in-app purchases of travel experiences and benefits.
Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International, owners of Priority Pass, said:
“Travel plays an increasingly important role in people’s lives. While operating costs across the travel industry continue to rise, so too do traveller expectations, with people seeking journeys that are more seamless, connected and personalised. That makes investing in the customer experience more important than ever.
“This investment reflects a principle that has remained core to our business for more than 35 years: that investing in better travel experiences creates genuine value for our partners, our clients and travellers alike. Recent shifts in what technology can enable means we need to increase our investment levels to realise the value new technology can bring through Priority Pass, further allowing our clients to offer differentiated and personalised experiences to their customers.
“As we surpass 1,900 lounges and travel experiences globally, the Group’s investment in lounge capacity through Airport Dimensions means our members will benefit from a network that keeps expanding for the long term. This powerful combination is unique in our sector. It allows us to work closely with financial institutions, travel brands and airport partners around the world to help them build stronger customer relationships while shaping the next generation of airport experiences and delivering long-term value.”
Lounge network expands as passenger demand grows
A major part of the investment will support the global airport lounge footprint of Airport Dimensions, Priority Pass’s sister company.
The additional capacity is intended to strengthen access for Priority Pass members as global aviation demand continues to rise.
Priority Pass has now surpassed 1,900 airport lounges and travel experiences worldwide. Its network expanded by 6.7% during the past 12 months.
Global air passenger traffic is expected to approach 19 billion journeys annually by 2045. Collinson therefore sees lounge capacity as an important part of the programme’s long-term development.
Priority Pass+ app adds new member functionality
The Priority Pass investment will also fund improvements to member access and account management. The Priority Pass+ app introduces easier activation, saved card functionality and biometric authentication. Members can also use email or mobile one-time verification.
Eligible users can manage multiple Priority Pass memberships within one account. This removes the need to maintain separate logins for different benefits. Future functionality will allow eligible principal payment cardholders to share visit entitlements with supplementary cardholders. This will apply where the issuing bank supports the feature.
Supplementary cardholders can then use those benefits when travelling independently.
Fast track network set for major expansion
Priority Pass is also broadening its services beyond airport lounges. Airport fast track is currently available at 28 airports through the Priority Pass app. The service provides access to expedited security lanes.
Over the next 12 months, Priority Pass expects the network to grow to more than 170 bookable fast track lanes. These will cover more than 150 terminals at over 130 airports worldwide.
The company said 73% of travellers identify fast track as the leading technology for improving the airport experience. The service joins other travel products available through the programme, including airport parking and luggage storage.
Seatravel packages
Priority Pass has also launched Priority Pass Private. The service offers a higher-end airport experience for travellers seeking more personalised support.
More than six million guest visits each month
Priority Pass has expanded significantly since its launch more than 35 years ago. It has developed from a lounge access programme into a wider airport and travel services platform. The programme now records more than six million guest visits per month.
Collinson is also strengthening relationships with existing lounge partners. Its work with CAVU, operator of Escape Lounges, has introduced dedicated areas for Priority Pass members and LoungeKey cardholders.
These areas are operating across five UK lounges. Escape Lounges teams also provide eligible members with priority access when space becomes available.
Collinson expands wider travel investment
The five-year growth programme extends beyond Priority Pass. Collinson also plans to invest in its global lounge network, insurance portfolio and new technology.
The programme will support new products, market expansion and workforce investment across the group. Collinson has also renewed its commitment to the Collinson Foundation. The group has pledged 5% of profits by FY29 to programmes covering education, employment and entrepreneurship.
Funding will also support innovation and crisis response initiatives.
The Priority Pass investment places digital services, AI, lounge capacity and broader airport experiences at the centre of Collinson’s next phase of growth.
