
Honourable State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mr. M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, held a productive meeting with YB Tuan Chiew Choon Man, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC), on 18 August 2026 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. H.E. Mr. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, was also present at the meeting.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between Bangladesh and Malaysia in the fields of tourism, with a view to creating unique and enriching experiences for tourists from both countries. The discussions also contributed to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration.
Key areas discussed included cultural exchanges, increasing flight frequencies, capacity building, visa facilitation and pre-verification, as well as the sharing of experiences, expertise and best practices in tourism development. Two sides also discussed cooperation in the field of training and skills development in the hospitality industry with a view to increasing recruitment of trained personnel in the tourism service sector of Malaysia.

The meeting underscored the importance of closer cooperation between the two countries in promoting tourism, fostering people-to-people connectivity, and expanding opportunities for cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
Also in attendance were Mr. Chua Choon Hwa, Deputy Secretary General (Tourism); Madam Nuwal Fadhilah Ku Azmi, Director of International Promotion (Asia and Africa), Tourism Malaysia; senior officials from MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia; Ms. Mosammat Shahanara Monica, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh; and Mr. Pranab Kumar Ghosh, First Secretary (Commercial) of the Bangladesh High Commission
