The upcoming expansion reinforces Meliá’s commitment to Vietnam as a strategic growth market

Global hospitality firm Meliá Hotels International and Vietnamese property development company Tanzanite International have announced a major expansion of Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort in Vietnam.
The upcoming expansion reinforces Meliá’s commitment to Vietnam as a strategic growth market in Asia Pacific.
Building on the resort’s growing international recognition, the expansion will significantly enhance Meliá Ho Tram’s accommodation, wellness, and lifestyle offerings whilst further positioning Ho Tram as one of Vietnam’s leading upscale coastal destinations.
Meliá Hotels International chief operating officer André P Gerondeau commented: “Vietnam continues to represent one of the most strategic growth markets for Meliá Hotels International in Asia Pacific, and Ho Tram is rapidly emerging as a premier leisure and lifestyle destination within the region. This expansion reflects our long-term confidence in both the destination and our partnership with Tanzanite International. Together, we are evolving Meliá Ho Tram beyond a traditional beachfront resort into a more holistic destination experience. The expansion will strengthen the resort’s positioning across premium leisure, wellness, gastronomy and exceptional hospitality.”
Tanzanite International chairman Nguyen Nam Son added: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Meliá Hotels International as we invest in the long-term future of Ho Tram. This next chapter of development reflects our shared vision to create a world-class coastal destination that contributes meaningfully to the local economy and strengthens Ho Tram’s appeal among both domestic and international travelers. This project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs during the construction phase and approximately 500 new operational roles for the local community once fully operational, supporting the continued growth of tourism and hospitality within the region.”
What’s coming up?
Slated to open in Q3 2028, the expansion located within the prestigious five-star resort complex of Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort will introduce an additional 191 hotel suites and rooms to meet the rising demand for premium leisure and wellness travel experiences in southern Vietnam.
The development will also feature five new swimming pools across 2,500sqm, including a signature rooftop pool, alongside expanded wellness, fitness, and dining facilities to further elevate the resort experience.
Rooted in Meliá’s Mediterranean-inspired approach to hospitality, the resort experience blends warm and intuitive service with a strong sense of place, creating meaningful connections between guests, local culture and the natural surroundings of Ho Tram.
As part of the broader development, the project will also introduce The Indochine Residences at Melia Ho Tram, an exclusive collection of two- and three-bedroom residences, duplexes and penthouses.
The residences will offer investors the opportunity to participate in the resort’s growth through fully serviced, hotel-managed properties that combine private ownership with access to Meliá’s hospitality standards and rental programme.
