Hotel Agrabad is set to observe the 53rd death anniversary of the late Sabder Ali, the founding Managing Director and a pioneer in Bangladesh’s hospitality industry, through a series of commemorative events this week.
On July 5, a Qur’an recitation and prayer session will be held at the hotel premises seeking eternal peace for the departed soul. The event will be attended by family members, religious scholars, and close acquaintances, including H. M. Hakim Ali, the current Managing Director of Hotel Agrabad.
The management stated that this initiative is a gesture of deep respect and gratitude for Sabder Ali’s visionary contributions to the hospitality sector. His legacy, they said, continues to inspire the institution under the leadership of his successors.
On July 6, a floral tribute will be offered at his gravesite. Later in the day, a lunch will be hosted in the Karnaphuli Hall of the hotel for all associates and staff. The commemorative programme will conclude with reflections on Sabder Ali’s enduring influence on the development of the hospitality industry in Bangladesh.
