Tourism Alliance Society Marks World Tourism Day with Roundtable

The Tourism Alliance Society successfully organized a Round Table Discussion on the occasion of World Tourism Day titled “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation: Bangladesh Context.” The program was held at Days Hotel, Dhaka, in the gracious presence of distinguished guests, policymakers, and tourism sector stakeholders.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Nuzhat Yasmin, CEO, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), and the Guest of Honour, Ms. Saima Shahin Sultana, Chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC). In recognition of their contribution and encouragement towards the promotion of sustainable tourism in Bangladesh, both were presented with commemorative crests by the organizers.

Discussions highlighted the immense potential of Bangladesh’s tourism sector, with particular emphasis on sustainable practices, eco-tourism, and the necessity of joint collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and community stakeholders. Eminent participants also stressed the importance of preserving natural and cultural heritage as a means of attracting more international visitors.

Mr. Rezaul Ekram, General Secretary of the organization, briefed the audience on the objectives and vision of the Tourism Alliance Society, reaffirming its commitment to work hand in hand with all tourism stakeholders for the advancement of sustainable tourism in the country.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali and moderated by Mr. Taufiq Rahman.

The organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all distinguished guests, media representatives, and participants for their active support and valuable insights in making the event a success.
