Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, a former adviser to the caretaker government, has been appointed as the new chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He will succeed Mostofa Kamal Uddin in the role.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism issued a gazette notification on Sunday confirming the appointment, with Senior Assistant Secretary Rumana Yasmin signing the document.
Chowdhury previously served as an adviser under the caretaker government led by Justice Latifur Rahman in 2001.
Abdul Muyeed brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from 1991 to 1994.
His return to the national carrier marks a significant leadership change aimed at steering Biman towards new heights.
