Dr S. Sri Kumar the founder of DHS Hospitality Academy was awarded the TOURISM HERO for the year 2020 by the Malaysian Tourism Council of Malaysia. The Malaysia Tourism Council is the voice of the Industry and represents around 100 associations related to the Tourism Industry in Malaysia. The award is given to individuals who have shown exemplary services in the Industry and also their contribution to the development of the Industry.
DHS was founded in 2016 by Dr Sri to provide opportunities for Malaysian Youths to be trained and placed in the Industry for entry level positions. From the inception DHS has successfully placed 1500 youths for attachment in the Singapore Hospitality Industry and also been recognized by the South Asia Tourism Federation as the approved training provider. DHS partners with 10 Malaysian Universities and also Hospitality schools in Switzerland, Singapore and the UK. Graduated from Johnson & Wales University Providence Rhode Island Dr Sri passion for training in the Hospitality Industry is remarkable where programs developed via his experience in the Industry allows individuals to be placed in the Industry within 48 hours of training. A very hand on person Dr Sri has created 30 different programs through his discussions and sharing session with the Industry.
DHS also developed the DHS Hospitality Education Mall (www.thedhs-mall.asia) to provide opportunities for individuals to seek information for a CAREER in the Hospitality Industry where Industry experts share their experiences, there is also a Learning Management System and a Virtual Class incorporated. The MALL also provides services to students and students could apply for bank loans for their study through the mall. All programs are with placements which is provided for free as DHS believes that training should be with placement
