The Royal Thai Embassy has repatriated 197 Thai nationals, living in Bangladesh, back to Thailand by means of a special Thai Lion Air flight.

The flight, numbered SL2225, departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11.00 pm and is set to arrive in Bangkok at 2.30pm, confirmed a top airport official.

The ambassador and officers of the embassy were present at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see off the Thai nationals.

The embassy arranged its first repatriation flight on 17 April 2020, returning 35 Thai nationals, living in Bangladesh, to Thailand.

Another special flight will be arranged to bring back more Thai nationals who have requested to return to Thailand.

The Embassy said it wholeheartedly thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Immigration of Bangladesh, and Airport officials for facilitating the smooth departure of Thai nationals.
