National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines ultimately decided to suspend the flights in the two routes to the United Kingdom for the next seven days starting from March 30.
Md Mokabbir Hossain, managing director, and chief executive officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines said the flights have been suspended in the two routes — Dhaka-London-Dhaka and Dhaka-Manchester-Dhaka — considering the current coronavirus situation.
“Flights will be operated as per schedule in London and Manchester routes on March 29 and will return to Dhaka on March 30. The suspension will take effect after that,” he said.
Previously, Biman Bangladesh Airlines had announced its decision to suspend all flights to international destinations, except Manchester and London, from April 1 over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Coronavirus has created panic in countries around the world, resulting in mass lockdowns and flights being canceled around the world.
