President M Abdul Hamid has laid emphasis on utilizing experience of the Maldives in flourishing Bangladesh’s tourism sector.
The president made the statement as the newly-appointed High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Maldives Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban on Tuesday evening, reports BSS.
President Hamid also asked the new high commissioner to take necessary steps in this regard.
“Take necessary measures so that Bangladesh can develop its tourism sector by using the experience of the Maldives,” the head of the state told Bangladeshi envoy.
Rear Admiral Nazmul Hassan sought the president’s all-out cooperation during his assignment in the Maldives.
Giving a patient hearing to the new high commissioner, the president assured him of providing all-necessary supports to brighten Bangladesh’s image abroad.
Bangabhaban secretaries and foreign ministry officials concerned were present during the meet.
