Travis Napper, who’s been CEO of the Ruston, La.-Lincoln Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been named director of Arkansas Tourism, succeeding Jim Dailey, who retired at the end of 2019.

The appointment was announced by Stacy Hurst, secretary of the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. Napper will start work April 1 at a salary of $112,000.ADVERTISEMENT

Napper was director of orientation and special programs at Louisiana Tech in Ruston before taking the visitors’ bureau job.
A news release said he’d been active in trade groups and was an award winner for travel, tourism and convention work.
