Tourism industry will move forward if women hold on helm. Women’s participation is inevitable to take country’s largest hospitality sector towards sustainable development Bangladesh Tourism Board’s Chief Executive D. Bhuban Chandra Biswas said this as the Chief Guest at the seminar arranged jointly by Bangladesh Tourism Board and Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry titled “ Role of Women Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development of Tourism’.

To highlight the role of women in the tourism industry, yesterday at Chattograsm Pologround 13th International Women SME Commercial Fair a seminar was arranged. He also said sustainable tourism is such a system which meets the present demand and does not harm the future. Keeping the next generation not in risk but an environment friendly development we want. And for this, steps by Govt. individual’s positive attitude, personal participation and coordination of firmness is required.

The meeting was presided over by President of Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry where past MP Sabiha Nahar Begum was present as special guest, Asian University for Women’s Registrar Dr. Dave Dowland, Western Marine Shipyard’s Managing Director Engineer M. Showkat Hossain, Hotel Agrabad Hotel’s CEO H.M. Hakim Ali. Gave speech by Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice-President Abida Mosrafa and Senior Vice-president Dr.Munal Mahbub.

Monowara Hakim Ali said removing gender discrimination women must be engaged to marked works of tourism industry. Coming out from tradition work, women should work to tourism and in other sectors to contribute to the national economy of the country She also said. She also said without Chattogram to develop tourism industry is not possible. Tradition of chattogram to be uphold where the chattogram’s entrepreneurs can play their role

In addition these decorating chattogram in small parts to make attraction of tourism advised by special guest Sabiha Nahar Begum. In the seminar among other Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice-President Rekha Alam Chowdhury, directors, members, Bangladesh Tourism Board’s Officers and staff were present.
