Abu Dhabi International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport have signed a new agreement together to share THE best practices and collaborate to improve their airport operations.
At the BDIA Management Centre in Beijing, China, on October 10, under the presence of Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports; Bryan Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports; and Yao Yabo, President of Beijing Daxing International Airport, BDIA; the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked.
The opening of the Beijing Daxing International Airport last month and the opening of the Midfield Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport were followed by the signing of the MOU. Establishing mechanisms for interactive contact and the exchange of knowledge and best practices were agreed by both parties. Ideas to develop their airports and advancing the wider aviation industry for the benefit of the passengers and visitors from around the world were also shared.
“The close social and economic ties between the UAE and China is the reason for this agreement, and we will work with our Chinese colleagues to develop our partnership at all levels,” said by Bryan Thompson.
He also added, “The economy of Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE understand the importance of Chinese tourism and business market. Chinese travelers find Abu Dhabi as a popular destination, and tourist numbers are continuing to rise every year.”
Yao Yabo said, “The Chinese President XI Jinping officially announced the opening of Beijing Daxing International Airport on September 25th of 2019. Long-term and win-win cooperation with Abu Dhabi Airport is what we believe in, more contributions to China’s civil aviation and world’s civil aviation will be jointly made by both the sides.”
