The 52nd annual general meeting of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) was welcomed in the Kuwait’s capital Kuwait’s City.
Kuwaiti Finance Minister, Nayef Al-Hajraf said at the opening ceremony that, given the world’s rapid growth, Arab airlines need to continue to broaden its horizons to help promote the Arab world’s sustainable development.
He added that the Arab community must collaborate to achieve success and economic security by facing challenges, resolving problems and implementing the traditional Arab business idea.
Kuwait Airways president Yousef Al-Jassem said that the Arab air transport sector is a major engine for Arab countries ‘ economies.
The key issues include operating constraints in air service contracts and airlines ‘ ability to play their full economic role, he said.
AACO Secretary General Abdul Wahab Teffaha, said the international aviation market has seen an annual 6% increase in the number of passengers since 2010.
He said, since 2010, traffic at Arab airports has grown by an annual average of 6.8%.
