The first time in the region that a medical service provider and an airline collaborated to promote Abu Dhabi as a premier medical travel destination. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi have signed an agreement for this collaboration.
Etihad will offer specific medical travel packages to key markets around the world, they will provide a single solution for booking flights, accommodation and Abu Dhabi’s Cleveland Clinic, covering more than 40 medical and surgical specialties will provide its medical treatments under this agreement.
“Specialized services for travelers with pre-existing medical conditions, including the care by our in flight nurses, it is a natural step forward for us to work with such a prestigious medical company to give our guests more choice in search of the perfect healthcare travel package. Significant global investment in improving its medical services has been seen by Abu Dhabi and we are proud to play a role in making this world-class healthcare easier to access.” Tony Douglas, Group Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Aviation Group, said.
The decision to partner with medical travel services was confirmed as part of the support of both organizations for Abu Dhabi’s wider plan to become a leading medical tourism hub, announced earlier this year by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and Culture & Tourism Department.
