Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer said, “From day one we believed Indigo and are delighted to be able to achieve this most fruitful partnership”. “IndiGo as a leading low cost operator has brilliantly demonstrated the relevance of the A320neo and the A321neo. Now the A321XLR would provide our operators with the logical next step in cost competence, passenger comfort and market coverage.”

Riyaz Peer Mohammed, Chief Aircraft Acquisition and Financing Officer of IndiGo, said “Partnering again with Airbus for our next batch of Airbus A320neo Family aircraft is a pleasing moment for us. An unmatched Xtra Long Range of up to 4,700nm – with 30 percent lower fuel burn per seat would be achieved by this aircraft, compared with preceding generation competitor jets.
