Indonesian Food Festival in Dhaka Highlights The Diverse Cuisine of Indonesia

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka in collaboration with Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka is organizing “Taste of Indonesia”, a weeklong Indonesian food festival from 30 August to 6 September 2019. The Indonesian Food Festival will feature numerous vibrant Indonesian culinary from different parts of the country. The festival will be inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, HE Mrs Rina P. Soemarno on 31st August 2019.

During the press conference of the festival, The Third Secretary of Information, Education, Social and Cultural, Ms. Murni Nyaristi said, “Indonesian culinary is bestowed with a very unique identity. It offers distinctive flavors, obtained from specific ingredients and mixture of spices, very delicate yet intense. To name a few are Beef Rendang, Satay, Fried Rice, Oxtail Soup and Gado-Gado. These culinary sensations come from different regions. Indonesian cuisine varies by region and has many different influences. Rooting back to the history, during the colonial era, traders and immigrants from different countries including South Asia arrived in Indonesia and brought different cultures as well as cuisines”.

She added, “The festival will be the occasion of celebrating the authentic culinary diversities that Indonesia has to offer .Taste of Indonesia will put luscious Indonesian dishes from different part of regions into the spotlight. In a span of a week between 30 August – 6 September 2019, each day we will showcase Indonesian dish from one particular region. Guests attending this festival will get to immerse themselves in the authentic flavors of Indonesian cuisine and enjoy dining experience while watching live Indonesian traditional dance performance”.

Taste of Indonesia will take place at Café Bazar, Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Guest Chef Eko Cahyo from Hotel Ambhara Jakarta will delight the food enthusiasts with his authentic culinary art. The dinner only event will treat the guests in a buffet spread. From starters to main courses to desserts, the mouth-watering Indonesian dishes will spoil the appetite of guests attending the festival.

The buffet dinner is priced at BDT 4000 All Inclusive per person.
